Supporting School IT and Moving Schools to the Cloud
After 23 years as an IT development and field engineer, 7 of them in education I decided to become self employed and setup First Ediction / 2010it in 2010. I offer full IT support to schools, but have recently started to introduce and move schools to cloud computing.
I have been heavily involved in moving schools to G Suite for Education; Google’s Cloud Platform. I can supply full support including INSET / CPD training and classroom lead support. Back in October and November of 2016 I held a couple of Google Open Days at Dowson Primary School in Hyde. These introduced schools to G Suite for Education and if you need to read more about these days please visit the following website by clicking here.
I have been helping teachers in supporting the IT curriculum and introducing new ways to work with children and IT, including a paperless homework system via Google Classroom.
Last year I was involved in making a video at Arundale Primary School that went on to win the Childnet International Film Competition 2016 and I was proud to accompany children to London to collect their award. I helped put together and edited the War Horse video and we are currently working on The Peterloo Massacre video.
I have a lot of experience of WordPress blogging and website build. I will be shortly introducing children to the New Google Sites web builder at Aldwyn and Dowson Primary Schools.
I have experience of programming and using the BBC Micro Bit and Raspberry PI mini computer.
